Synopsis

Graeae and Strange Fruit present The Garden.

Gravity-defying outdoor theatre.

A troupe of nomadic story-keepers (the Keeper of Dreams, Keeper of History, Keeper of Song and Keeper of Names), share three stories of grace, growing up and imagination. For a brief moment in time, the Keepers open their garden-ritual – a ceremony of renewal, transformation, and harmony.

Beautifully composed music fills the sky as artists take to four metre high sway poles to create new stories in the air.

The Garden was commissioned as part of Unlimited, the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme, from an original idea by Greenwich+Docklands International Festival.
