Synopsis
Reasons to be Cheerful by Paul Sirett
Graeae in association with Theatre Royal Stratford East and New Wolsey Theatre
Reasons to be Cheerful – a musical set in 1979, featuring Dury classics from ‘Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll’ to ‘Spasticus Autisticus’. A top class cast and scorching live band pay tribute to Ian Dury’s anarchic spirit in this riotous coming-of-age tale.
The 2010 production was notably supported by the Blockheads. Sir Peter Blake, Ian Dury’s mentor, donated a limited edition print of the Reasons to be Cheerful single album artwork, to mark his appreciation.
