Graeae is pleased to present Sight Lines, a 23-minute film that examines and demystifies the practice of providing access for blind and visually impaired actors. It is available at the link above or, by request, on free DVD with free delivery.
The film, written and directed by Tim Gebbels, follows a group of blind and visually impaired actors through a typical day of rehearsal, and demonstrates a variety of options for accommodating access requirements, such as making the stage and working space accessible and providing access to written scripts.
Funded by the Arts Council England through Graeae’s VIP project, the DVD is not meant as a definitive guide but we hope it will provide basic information and help to develop inclusive casting practices.
Click on the Video link above to watch the film in full. The film is audio described and subtitles will follow shortly. We would love to receive your feedback.
