Workshop Four - Acting Through Song
Saturday 6th March 2010, 10am - 5pm
The Actors Centre, 1A Tower Street, London, WC2H 9HP
ACTING THROUGH SONG with Heather Weir and accompanist Richard Link
An introductory course designed to explore character through your sung voice.
This is a one-day course, divided into two sessions. The first session is preparing the actor to work their own voice and body as an instrument. We will combine spoken and sung voice, learn some material and then prepare for a group musical performance.
The second session will look at approaching sung material through the text, and includes the opportunity for coaching on individual songs, which will be shared with the group.
Course participants will need to prepare for their own song or song text, which should be chosen as they would a monologue for an acting audition. Song requests can be made on request when applying for this course.
This is a great opportunity to develop you as a performer, particularly valuable for those who are doing musical theatre and song performance work.
